In the second administrative consideration, there was a final result about the anti-dumping tax of export shrimp from India, Brazil and Ecuador to US. The shrimp anti-dumping tax for India decreased to 1.69%.

Fimex VN: Banking interest – pressure on export enterprises.

In the first 6 months of 2008, Fimex VN exported over 2,500 MT of Aquatic Product, which is approximately equal to the same period in 2007, but the export turnover decreased 18% over the same period last year. The reason is Vannamei appeared in enterprise’s export structure with lower value.

April 2008, Japan imported 15,152.8 tons of frozen shrimp.

According to customs of Japan, in April 2008 the country imported approximately 15,152.8 tons of frozen shrimp (HLSO or HOSO) valued 13,343.1 million JPY, CIF (about 130.2 million USD) with the average price of 881 JPY/kg (about 8.59 USD/kg CIF Japan).

From January to May, USA has imported less shrimp than before

From January to May 2008, USA has imported 196,800 tons of shrimp (1.34 billion USD) 0.8% quantity more and 2.2% value less than the same period last year. Thailand has exported the highest quantity of shrimp (type: 15-20), from 329,176 tons (3.1 millions USD) to 997,552 tons (9,2 million USD). Vietnam and Indonesia have also increasing two times the shrimp export volume of this size to the US.
